We’re excited to launch Space to Belong on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 8:00am EST! This initiative provides up to $100 in sensory supplies to help places of worship create a sensory room or sensory corner.
We know you may have some questions, so we’ve taken the time to answer some of them below.
How do I apply?
Applications must be completed through an online form on our website. The link will be: https://autismfaithnetwork.com/2026-space-to-belong-application/. Please note that the application form will not be visible until April 13, 2026 to avoid early applications.
Can I apply via email?
No. We only accept applications submitted through our online form.
How many places of worship will receive sensory supplies?
Up to 20 places of worship will receive sensory items through this initiative.
How does the selection process work?
- We will accept the first 30 completed applications.
- The first 20 applicants will move forward with the application process.
- Applicants 21–30 will be placed on a waiting list.
The first 20 applicants will be provided with a Leadership Consent Form that must be signed within 2 weeks. If any of the first 20 applicants do not submit the form on time, they will no longer be eligible for Space to Belong. Applicants from the waiting list will be invited to take their place.
Please note: Being on the waiting list does not guarantee the opportunity to receive sensory supplies.
Do I need leadership approval?
Yes. A signed Leadership Consent Form is required from the leader of your place of worship. We want to be sure that:
- Your leadership is informed and supportive of creating a sensory room or sensory corner.
- Your church is prepared for implementation.
- There are no surprises to your Leader when your participation is shared publicly.
Leadership support is key to creating a successful and sustainable sensory space.

We recommend reviewing and selecting your preferred items in advance so that you are ready to submit your application when registration opens.
Is this program only for Christians?
No. Places of worship of any faith are welcome to apply. Autism impacts individuals and families of all religious backgrounds.
When will our items be shipped?
We will place orders once we receive your completed Leadership Consent Form. We will reach out to you once we have an estimated delivery date. Please let us know when your items arrive.
Can places of worship outside the continental United States apply?
Not at this time. Due to shipping limitations, we are only able to serve locations within the continental United States.
What happens after we receive our sensory items?
Great question! You will be asked to fill out a short evaluation form so that you can tell us about your experience with Space to Belong. We also ask that you send a photo or video of the items in use at your place of worship.
