2026 Accessible Faith Initiative Toolkit

2025 Accessible Faith Initiative Toolkit Cover

For many families, attending church is a source of comfort and community. But for autistic individuals and their families, the church environment can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Bright lighting, loud music, crowded spaces, and unspoken social expectations can create sensory and emotional challenges without the right supports in place. Many congregations may not even realize these barriers exist, and that’s where we can help.

A New and Updated Toolkit

We are excited to share our newly updated Accessible Faith Initiative Toolkit! It’s designed to help places of worship become more autism friendly.

Since 2016, the Autism Faith Network has been creating practical resources to support churches that want to take meaningful steps toward inclusion. This FREE toolkit is filled with ideas and tools to help your congregation move from good intentions to thoughtful action.

What’s Inside the Toolkit?

Whether your place of worship is just beginning this journey or looking to strengthen existing efforts, this toolkit offers practical next steps. The redesigned toolkit includes:

  • Activity ideas for Autism Awareness Month and beyond
  • Sample social media posts and church announcements
  • Guidance for starting a disability ministry
  • Testimonials to inspire and encourage your congregation
  • And more helpful resources to support inclusion
